The Queensland Winter Craft Festival returns for a second year to the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery over the months of June and July.
June: The Queensland Winter Craft Festival will bring home-made crafts from around the South Burnett. On display in June will be quilted creations made for the Tangled Threads 2017 exhibition.
Tangled Threads worked with artist Jenny Keys and used her work as an influence or source of inspiration for their latest collection of quilted pieces which range in size and technique.
The Alpaca Collective will showcase their 2017 Wearable Art Collection. Highlights will be exclusive alpaca pieces by Julia Jeffery using the Nuno felted technique together with funky Alpaca art yarn and knits by Kirsten Jeffery. Also on show will be ‘Alpaca Dreams’ luxury hand spun Alpaca winter wear by Myrie Cobby.
Explore the world of Lapidary. The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club are showcasing the process from rough rock to slabs; onto the cut and polished jewellery pieces ready for sale. Complementing this exhibition will be photography and woodwork items from club members.
July: The Queensland Winter Craft Festival July program will feature, wearable art, paper toilet together with pottery from the ReFire Project.
